I'm up for the challenge.

I have been nice and lazy today and I LOVE IT. I can't think of a better way to start my break :)

I did 60 minutes of Heart Opening Flow #1. It was a lot more challenging than I thought it would be! I was majorly sweating by the end and I feel really good! I am so glad that I've started doing yoga regularly and have been able to stick with it for 2 weeks! Anyone else doing the 31 Day Yoga Challenge?

Midday, I had a sweet potato with smart balance and a little cinnamon, but totally forgot to snap a picture. I also had this panini:

Multigrain bread, turkey, tomato, avocado, mozzarella, and a little olive oil. Yummy. I love the Griddler!!

The rest of the day should be similar to the first part. I'm going to Modest Mouse tonight! YAY! Should be fun. I also want to note that my posts for spring break might be a little less consistent while I'm on break. I'll definitely update as often as possible and keep commenting on everyone's blogs. Happy Friday!

Self-controlling.

Second Friday the 13th in the row. Spooky, right?

I'm planning on taking it pretty easy today. I'm planning on about an hour of yoga later. Plus I really want to do a little bit of shopping since I haven't been in forever, even though I know that poor college student + shopping = not the best idea. We'll seeeeeeee.

Breakfast probably looks pretty familiar. That's because it's the exact same thing that I ate on Wednesday.

Van's Berry Boost Waffles with Smart Balance and maple syrup, kiwi, and blackberries. It's a goodie.

Short post because I don't have much else to report. I'll let you know how good my self-control is later today.

Spring breakin'!

First of all: THANK GOODNESS IT'S SPRING BREAK!!

Phew. I felt like I was really forcing myself to get through the rest of this week. I am totally ready for some R & R and not worrying about school for a while.

Before I headed to class today, I made a Honey Oikos with a little bit of TJ's Chocolate Decadence cereal on top:

I also brought an apple and a Cherry Pie Lara Bar with me. I was kinda hungry during my workout and yoga, but I think maybe cutting out my usual sandwich wasn't horrible today, especially since I ate breakfast later.

Speaking of yoga, it was AWESOME today! I had thought about not going because I'm ridiculously burnt out, but then I thought about the fact that I wouldn't be going for over a week. I'm so glad I did. We did some really fun poses: one was a hand stand type with feet against the wall to make an upside down 'L'. Also did headstands against the wall. I was unsure about whether I'd be able to do them, but I did! Not only that, but my instructor commented on my flexibility and skill level earlier in class, and had me help her demonstrate spotting in the head stand. Sometimes some recognition can really boost the mood, especially if it's something that you're proud of :)

Dinner tonight was for using up some of my food so it doesn't go to waste before break. I based it on this recipe, but used whole wheat spaghetti and smart balance instead of egg noodles and butter. In case you can't see them, there's also shrimp, asparagus (grilled instead of steamed), and mushrooms in there.

Yummy :) After some chores and such, I was ready for the last of my Cherry Garcia. I threw in about 1/2 an oz. of cocoa almonds, too. Mmmmm, awesome addition.

Alright, all. I need to resuming my lounging. Have a great night!

Dreaming.

I feel so much better this morning. I woke up from a dream about a special TV from Japan that only played Pokemon... Strange, yes. Maybe because of last night's full moon.

I'm still feeling a little sore, but I think that I can pull a workout. I want to get as much in before break as I can because I'm not sure how that will go in the workout department. Like I said last night, my first class was canceled so it won't be a horribly long day.

I knew that I would need to step it up in the fiber sector, though. Those waffles didn't make it for me yesterday.

  • 1/2 c oats, 1/2 c water, 1/2 c skim
  • cinnamon
  • t. lt brown sugar
  • T. lemon curd
  • blackberries
  • walnuts
This is definitely one of my favorites. It's sweet, but not too bad. I can't deal with over-sweetness in the morning.

Time to get ready for my last day before BREAK!! YAY!!

Funky.

This day needs to end now. I have been in a serious funk all day long and I need to just sleep it off.

My shift was good. I started talking about my blog a little bit and I could tell people either didn't get it or thought it was odd. How do you handle this situation? What's the best way to explain your blog to people who don't know about it?

I brought some Kashi crackers and Goldfish pretzels and my Almond Butter.

Everyone seemed to like it, and I ate WAY TOO MUCH. I need to stop eating unreined. It just makes me feel yucky and imbalanced afterward.

At home I decided to so 30 min of Gentle Hatha Flow #2 . This was probably a good choice because of my overall soreness. I'm not sure if the gym will be in the cards tomorrow, as much as I want to. I also added a box in my sidebar for my workouts so I don't need to detail them as much in my posts.

Dinner was light because of a.) the funk and b.) the nut butter overindulgence. I had roasted brussels sprouts and Amy's Chunky Tomato Bisque. Also for the aforementioned reasons, I completely forgot about taking photos until I was doing the dishes. Oops. What's the deal?

I did all of my work, then went on the website to discover that not only have all of the due dates been pushed back until after break, but class is canceled tomorrow. Uggghhh. I need to collapse! And I probably will shortly with some Cherry Garcia. Good night!!!

Almost there!!

I am sooooo glad that I finished that exam! And it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. So I just need to finish some assignments tonight and then it might as well be spring break! Yay!

Lunch was some much anticipated Annie's leftovers from Monday night:

And a salad of spinach, mushrooms, avocado, tomatoes, cucumbers, walnuts and vinaigrette.

Not as texturally pleasing as other salads that I've made, but I got my veggies in! I also noticed that my breakfast did not hold me over as well as oatmeal usually does... Oatmeal wins again! But that definitely doesn't mean that I won't be having more waffles :)

In the Blog world: The Fitnessista is giving away a Quaker All-Natural Gift Bag! Check it out!

Gotta get ready for my Help Center shift! Have a good afternoon!

Sore and sore.

I am definitely not feeling so hot about this exam this morning. I just want to get it over with and start looking forward to Friday, aka Modest Mouse concert and Spring Break!!

Decided to switch it up for b-fast this morning:

Van's Berry Boost Waffles with Smart Balance and a little maple syrup, blackberries, kiwi, and a glass of milk (for brain protein!).

My body is still really sore. I'm thinking that I'll skip my workout and just do some restorative yoga at home. What do you do when you're sore? Happy Hump Day!
