Preppin'.

It has been a pretty productive morning/afternoon! I packed and cleaned the bathroom, which I keep putting off. But now I feel content and glad that I'll come back to a clean house on Sunday night :)

For lunch I had a slice of The Baker's Yoga Bread with Smart Balance. Awesome bread! It balances sweet and savory really well, since it has cranberries and pumpkin seeds. It would be good on its own or as a sandwich, which is just what I was hoping for.

Underneath you can see my monster salad of the day. Spinach, tomatoes, cukes, sprouts, blueberries, avocado, feta, and vinegarette. I love love love the taste of the feta and blueberries together! I'm so happy that I've gotten to explore so many flavor combos lately :)

I'm hoping to be able to update a little more this weekend than previous weekends, but we'll see how my work/play time goes. Any big weekend plans?

Rescue bananas.

Good morning and happy Friday to everyone who is looking forward to the weekend! I woke up so sore this morning! I like it though, it shows me that I'm really working! Anyway, I knew that I needed to get some potassium going on.

In this bowl: 1/2 c. oats, 1 whole banana, skim milk, light brown sugar, cinnamon, walnuts, and almond butter. So yummy. Like an Elvis sandwich in a bowl.

I'm hoping to work on my paper today before I head home. I just love having long mornings. I used to not be a morning person at all, but now I really like the peacefulness that the morning possesses. I really realized that this past summer when I was working a graveyard shift at the beach. Even though I was dead tired by sunrise, it was so gorgeous. Very spiritual and rewarding :) Ahh I can't wait for summer!

Push it!

Soooo, no work for me tonight :) My friend Jake called me and we went out with our friend Brian to see Push. We were all expecting it to be TERRIBLE, and kind of just wanted to go see a ridiculously bad movie for the fun of it (does that make sense?), but it was actually pretty good. I would recommend it for anyone who likes a movie with twists. And Dakota Fanning is adorable.

I had dinner before I left. I decided to make a taco bowl type concoction.

This consisted of lean ground turkey, taco seasoning, with some cheddar, salsa, and avocado on top. This was all on top of some Kashi rice. Mmmm.

I also had a small spinach salad with mushrooms, cukes, and balsamic red wine vinegarette.

When I got home from the movies, I was pretty hungry. I knew that the absence of a filling lunch was going to catch up with me. I had a slice of my zucchini coconut loaf and a mug of the new cocoa I got.

The cocoa is Equal Exchange. Honestly, at first sip I was not blown away. But I think that it grew on me. It is not very sweet, which is actually kind of nice. And it can't be that bad since I finished all of it :) Plus, it's fair trade, so that is definitely a plus.

Time for me to wind myself down. I still want to get up at decent hour and get some things done before I head for the Eastern Shore tomorrow. Good night!

I love my MOM's!

My body loves me right now. I just feel like I found an awesome workout niche today and I'm feeling so re-energized and good. I did the stationary bike today, which I haven't done in a while. It felt like a good pre-yoga workout. Followed that up with a walk on the treadmill and of course my yoga class :)

Yoga was awesome today because we really focused on breathing. We also got into triangle pose, which is one of my favorites and we hadn't gotten to it yet in this class. We also tried toe stands, which were fun, but definitely on my "To Practice" list, along with Crow.

I thought that I was packing my snacks today, but they pretty much became my lunch. My Kashi Dark Chocolate Coconut bar, apple, and goldfish pretzels.

Seriously, it's the OATS!! They are major sustenance. I don't know how I haven't been eating them all my life.

I also checked out MOM's today. I had never been because I wasn't sure where it was. Turns out, it's literally a 3 min drive from my house. It was really nice! I can't wait to go when I actually need to shop, but I did pick up some bread, apples, and cocoa because I was out of those.

I need to make dinner and think about getting work done. I think I might have a lot of time to do it over the weekend, so I might forgo it tonight. We'll see :)

WO stats: 40 min stationary bike, 15 min treadmill, 60 min yoga

I've got the world on a string.

It looks like the weather doesn't want to make up its mind again today. When I woke up it was gray, but now the sun is starting to poke through. I would be fine with that :) I've been listening to Sinatra all morning, so I'm feeling pretty mellow.

I also had some awesome oats! I was a little worried that this combo might be gross, but I decided to go for it and I'm so glad that I did!

In there I've got: 1 T lemon curd, handful of blueberries, walnuts, and brown sugar. The part I was concerned about was the lemon curd and oatmeal texture, but it was actually really good! The crunch from the walnuts added a lot, so it was like a melty lemon bar :)

My first class was canceled again today, so I've got a while before I need to head into campus. That gives me some time to pack up and get some lunch put together for later. Have a wonderful Thursday! It's almost the weekend!

Too snacky.

I always have the problem of getting too snacky when I'm around friends. So basically, being at HC with friends + being in a bad mood = snacking disaster. Probably not a "disaster" per se, but I'm not too happy about it. Oh well, all we can do is pick back up tomorrow.

At HC, I also had an apple with almond butter (not pictured). Also I had a cup of my cocoa at home (also not pictured).

For dinner I decided to make pan-glazed tofu a la Bella eats. Seriously, the best tofu that I've ever had. I will DEFINITELY make it again.

Served it with Kashi 7 grain rice and mushrooms.

And my chocolate for the night: dark chocolate with raspberry creme.

Alright, I'm wrapping it up for the night. Don't let the bed bugs bite ;)

On fire.

I rushed home after the gym to shower and eat lunch. I had a wonderful plan for a toasted sandwich and I knew that I should use the broiler to get it out quickly.

Sooo. I caught the sandwich on fire. Yes. On fire. Like, ball of fire in my oven. Luckily it was really just one piece of the bread and the sandwich turned out ok.

Feta, kalamata olives, tomato, avocado, mozzarella. Yummmm. Kind of like a Greek sandwich.

Also had a Pumpkin Pie Kashi bar and a piece of my zucchini coconut loaf (not pictured).

I'm at my shift at Help Center now, so this is going to be a short post.
