TWD BCM Les Whoopies

I am from Maryland and have always lived pretty close to Amish markets. They have the best baked goods, including their pretzels and their whoopie pies. Since moving south, we've been in a drought. These were a good sub, but I prefer a fluffier filling and more filling to cake. The cake base is spot-on.

I think these are interesting. Not my favorite cc cookie recipe, but a nice change. Can't taste the coriander at all, but the nutmeg is definitely very detectable. Husband is not too into them and keeps asking if they've mellowed out. 

TWD BCM Plain and simple almond cake

I have a fascination with eggs. They can do so much! They're like magic! This recipe shows them off. This is so good on its own, but would be great with fruit or cream. I kept thinking about an orange glaze to top.

These were pretty good snacks. I found that they did not hold up very well, so would be best for eating day of.

TWD BCM Pistachio and Berry Gratins

I love pistachios. Every time I eat a baked good or ice cream with pistachio I always wonder why I don't use them more often. These were so balanced and perfect. I used a mix of strawberries, raspberries, and blueberries.

TWD DC Chocolate-haystack cookies

I've been eating these for breakfast. I think that says it all.

TWD DC Lemon sugar cookies

These were very good and very easy. My husband said he would have liked more lemon flavor, but I thought they were just fine. Maybe a glaze for a little more lemon oomph?
