This is one of those recipes that comes together so easily and seems very impressive. It reminds me of a parred down version of the Hungarian shortbread from Baking with Julia. Plus, it can easily be switched up with whatever flavor jam you want to use. Or Nutella. Or lemon curd. Or really anything spreadable. I used Bonne Maman Four Fruits preserves. This one is a winner.

CTBF Croque Monsieur
While I was making this I had two thoughts.
I'm not going to use all of this butter.
I'm not going to use all of this cheese.
Totally did. Totally worth it. I did not press this sandwich, but I think I prefer it non-pressed.

TWD BCM Cocoa Crunch Meringue Cookies
My husband said that these seemed like they were more trouble than they were worth. In difficulty, I don't think I agree. But time-wise, a few hours is a lot for 8 cookies. They were good, and I felt like these were macaron training wheels.

CTBF My Paris Kitchen Artichoke Tapenade
This is an excellent dish. I love the raw garlic flavor in it. A major upgrade from the artichoke spinach dip that we see so often.

CTBF Belgian beef stew with beer and spice bread
Two entries that were not winners. The bread is pretty dry, I can't imagine that it will be finished. The stew just doesn't push the right buttons. And they are not photogenic.
